Neil Murphy is a British-Spanish filmmaker based in Barcelona, working as both a director and cinematographer.
A graduate of ECIB (Escola de Cinema de Barcelona), he has worked across feature films, television series, documentaries, and commercials in Europe, North America, and North Africa. His cinematography credits include the acclaimed true-crime series Crims, one of Catalonia’s most-watched television productions.
As a director, Neil focuses on personal, character-driven stories exploring memory, identity, and human connection. His short film SPARKS won the 2026 Musicbed Film Competition, while his previous short, The Killing of Time, was personally selected by Costa-Gavras for inclusion at the Cinémathèque Française.
Drawing from his background behind the camera, Neil creates films that combine visual precision with emotional honesty.
